I suppose that ISN’T necessary from a functional standpoint, but always helps to keep your equipment clean and free of carbon. NeTx.

I would keep the SRO if you've already invested the money in one, despite how much I love the 509T. The larger window and arguably better brightness than the 509T in bright sunlight offset the lack of an enclosed emitter.
