The Tikka T3 will be lighter than the Ruger. The Ruger is made in the USA (if that is important to you) and the Tikka is made in Finland. Personally, I like both rifles - both will serve you well. I have a Tikka T3 stainless in .243, and love the accuracy of the rifle.
