And a bottle lasts a really long time - I notice that it starts to be less effective at around 1/4 of a bottle left (by which I mean, when I use it at a base coat, my nail polish chips more quickly with an old bottle than a new one), but getting to that point takes a while for me. To remove, cover your nails from every angle with cuticle oil (or some oil). Put them in hot water with a small amount of soap for 15 minutes. How long you need will depend on how new your nails are and how much glue you used, so check keep checking every 5 minutes until they peel easily from the side/back of the nail. I feel you, but at least for me it was my own mistake of gnawing the gel off every week. Am on month 2 now and halfway through it. False tips with those nail 'glue' strips that you can peel off are my saviour for events where I want them to look nice.

So here is a video about how to use cuticle remover to it's full potential. Like MelbyToast, I probably do this about once a month or so. It will remove the excess cuticle from the nail plate (which can stop nail polish from adhering properly), and also clean up the edges of cuticle around your eponychium.
