I think that the argument would be that the number of people in the Meetup is pretty negligible compared to what the park can handle. However, the idea that they won't be hitting the rides earlier is a flimsy one. It relies on the idea that every consumer is a perfectly rational actor who wouldn't make decisions out of impulse or emotion.
