I've owned a few G26s over the last 10 years or so and last September I decided to make a Gen 4 Model 26 my ONLY gun (no more rifles or shotguns or other pistols). I shot it a couple times in the IDPA Classifier match and actually made Expert in the SSP division after being stuck as a Sharpshooter ...The final major difference is GLOCK's use of single-stack magazines to fit within a narrower frame.
