Just wondering if anybody has had any luck just replacing the broken crank with a new one without completely tearing down the whole engine and having the rotating assembly spin balanced? I Swapped the motor now I’m having a No Crank / No start Issue. Thought maybe bad wiring harness so I swapped harnesses, Wasn’t the issue, Doing that same thing. They all do it, but the LB7/LLY cranks have a little more weight to them so they are preferred if you're building the motor. Not sure if it makes a difference which crank you have, I did go with a used LLY crank that was mag tested in my LMM though. Then you will need to see if there is power to the solenoid. With a test light you can check the BIG wire on the starter solenoid.

Loosen the nut on the oil pump, pull the oil pump drive gear off. Slide the reluctor wheel assembly off. You MIGHT have to 'clearance' the mating surface on the upper oil pan.Flip the engine, oil pans off, pop all the rod caps off and push the pistons up in the cylinders, pop the main caps off. Sounds like a spun bearing to me, probably connecting rod. When it goes into reduced engine, the ECM turns off the injector on the cylinder that is knocking, and it goes away. Guessing you can figure out which cylinder it is by turning off injectors with a scan tool.
