The jacket fits me well the leather graining is good as is the construction .If you want to help me out give me a partial refund so I can have it fixed locally new eyelets and a buckle and you will close the issue with a satisfied customer .Were not talking a lot just enough to cover the cost of repairs locally.

I don’t own any new N-3B jackets, so can’t comment on the quality of those, but I do own all of the earlier versions -N-3, several N-3As and several N-3Bs up to the early 70s version. The British army stopped wearing rank denoting epaulettes in the field before WW1 (as they proved an inviting target for snipers). The Americans switched from epaulettes to shoulder straps in 1836 (for field duty). Wiki is a wonderful thing! That usually shouldn't be a problem for an A-2 jacket, unless the leather is really stiff - reason being that the blousing that most A-2s have allows them to continue fitting properly whether you're standing up or sitting down. Ride up is more of a problem with Navy jackets, in my experience.Really though, for around $500 you should look at JaDubowmfg (referred to Platon's Dubows on here). Their Dubow A-2s are the best original-maker A-2 on the planet for the money, right now. I am not sure if they are back tacking orders or not. Worth checking in. Strech the cuff to match the opening and secure the cuff to the leather (using clips, staples, etc.) Sew the cuff to the leather 1/8 inch from the edge, I find it works best to sew with the leather side up.
