A decent treadmill and the app will do just fine. Full disclosure; I have a Tread. Got it used for $2,000. Its definitely worth that.

You can connect the tread via bluetooth directly to Zwift and maybe some other apps; however, you can't connect it with Peloton. You will strictly be using Peloton digital, and the tread will not share your speed, incline, distance, etc. with Peloton. As for the sides, You can put the tread right next to the wall, however I recommend 6-8 inches minimum for smooth walls and at least 12" from Cinder-block walls. I tripped on my old treadmill before the Peloton and ended up with a nasty arm gash very similar to road rash because the tread was right next to the wall.Maybe true except Peloton already offers streaming workouts without having to buy their bike or treadmill.
