I put the MGW shifter in my Z06 and got a new OEM lower box. Car seemed fine but on a long trip (Power Tour) it would occasionally jump out of 6th on decel. While traveling with no tools or place to work, went to a well known shop near Tampa and they readjusted things (they said "no charge" so I bought them lunch).

Yes it does require an adaptor (sold on their website). Just a note - I purchased the adaptor for the standard C7 shifter, but the MGW shaft is slightly larger in diameter, preventing the adaptor from sliding completely down on the shaft. Result is the **** is currently about 1/2 inch higher than it could be.

My Hurst shifter feels more precise than the stock shifter, but the throw is only about 1/8th inch less. I did see a Hinson shifter that claims to have a 2 inch throw, but the shift effort increase is significant.I guess they are getting complaints from Z06 owners about buzzing/rattling with the OEM shifter (I was not getting any until I put in the MGW) and the solution is to go with the C6 shifter box. I also heard that the 2010 Z comes with the standard C6 box.
