I'm going to have to disagree with y'all and go with the AKV over the KP9. The only real benefit that I see the KP9 having is authenticity. The AKV was built more for performance and cost. The availability and price of magazines is a plus also if KUSA ever discontinues the KP9 or goes under mag availability will be a serious problem.The new ones supposedly have a pin on the rear stock latch that is easily removable. Pop the pin so you can move the latch, replace the old stock with the new stock, push the latch so the stock doesn't fold.Kalashnikov USA KP9 is the closest thing to a Vityaz SN, used by Russian Special Forces and Elite Police Units. Had to buy an annular cutter, pilot, die, and had to have a 14mmx1 LH thread alignment tool (to fit a 9mm bore ...KP9 is the true clone of the Russian Vityaz used by Russian special forces, etc., but it also means no bolt hold open, uses proprietary magzine, and comes with heavier trigger. Some say KP9 is more reliable than AKV but mine has 1k rounds not a single failure. Considering the recent KUSA qc issues I'd say proceed with caution.
