It first had problems with clutch, then front differential, so I sold it and purchased a Yamaha Viking EPS and I have had it nearly a year with no problems it shifts gears real good, and no problems with clutch and e wheel drive.

Also when shifting from 4WD to 2WD it hesitates but after few yards it comes out with a load clunk. I have about 20 hours on it.If the primary clutch seems to be okay, there is some chance that the secondary clutch has a problem, but it operates on a different principle and shouldn't give any trouble. Major problems with my 550 S4. I only have 44 hours on my new 550 S4 and the transmission and the clutch both have had to be replaced!!! I have only had the gator since Oct.31 it's been in the shop for over a month of that time, over three weeks just for the transmission! Because there was no rush on fixing something under warranty!

His brother-in-law is experiencing the same issue with his new gator. He was told it could a clutch issue.

Two common problems cause the primary clutch to stick. Too high an idle speed is most common, happens as the engine breaks in and the idle does not get turned down. The other cause is failure to lube the clutch, or the use of a wet lube like WD40.Reason for pulling - hard to shift out of reverse.
