I have Cortland 444 Peach WF5F on one rod, Scientific Anglers Mastery Infinity WF5F on another, and factory-spooled Orvis Clearwater WF5F line on my beginner Encounter kit. Sort-of an “A” shape, if that makes sense. Now, not much of an issue if one remains conscious and can deploy the PFD to the intended vest position but, if there is a loss of consciousness, the PFD may not work as intended. I was wondering about this, because it seems like a liability if I'm flying down a big freestone.

Whenever I can’t entice fish to rise for dries, or I can’t see fish rise I pack my dry rod, and use euronymphing or streamer setup. As soon as I see fish raise, I pack euro rod. Nothing beats dry fly take. Make the strategy to become versatile angler. I now have new toy: trout spey 11ft 4wt. Plus my friend gifted me 11ft 6/7wt switch rod.
