Rosters Buffered shot manual list the following loads for 2 3/4 buffered, Bismuth loads. C-Fed, P-Fed 209A ,21 gr B-dot, WAA20F1, 18gr buffer, 7/8 oz Bismuth shot. C-win AA or Rem STS,P Win 209, 15 gr Longshot, Rem SP20, 18 gr buffer, 7/8 gr Bismuth shot. There is no other wad like the SP20. It has a bit shorter crush section than the AA-style 20 ga wads making it very useful for those who have stack height problems with other wads. The Wad on the left is an RXP20 and the one on the right is a Remington Wad I'm trying to identify. I'd believe it to be one of the following: W29944, W29942 or W23678 or a R20 or RP20. The cup dimensions appear to be the same, just the base is shorter on the yellow wad.For straight walled Federal hulls I've used Green Dot and the RP20 wad with good results for skeet and light field loads. For heavier loads I've used Blue Dot, SP20 wad with 1 1/8oz of #5 & #6 shot for pheasant. I prefer WWAA hulls, wads and WST powder to duplicate AA skeet loads.

I just found the box w/ them in it - the orig. Rem. shipping box. They are Rem. RXP 20 gauge - yellow- for Rem. Unibody shells it reads. These results are hardly statistically significant, but the two DRV-20's that I recovered from the patterning board this weekend collapsed perfectly and the wad petals peeled back symmetrically. The two were shot through a Remington 1100 with a fixed skeet choke.

When I'm looking for the highest pattern density with heavy loads, I add either a purchased or home-made shot wrapper since the shot cup portion of the SP-10 is too shallow (insufficient volume) for 2 oz. -Ed. I prefer Herco in the "Old Style" compression formed AA case and IMR4756 in the STS case. Supposed to break apart upon firing. Its main purpose is to ease feeding of the wad on some reloading machines. For reload recipe purposes, it is the same wad. Unique is a very good powder for the 16 ga. reloader. I have loads W/ 15 gr. to 19 gr. using 7/8 oz to 1 1/8 oz of shot.
