Dec 7, 2011 · The R/T Road and Track comes with a high speed limiter. So does the Super Track Pack option. It’s 147 mph. The standard R/T has a speed limiter if 127 mph. I think the only package with no speed limiter is the Hellcat...but it has an rpm limit of 6,200. Nuwanda. Like.

From what I've read too, your info regarding top-end speed being governed around the tolerances of the tires is accurate: 140-145mph for a stock R/T. It might be a tad higher with an R/T equipped with a 3.06 rear axle. The car had a drag coefficient that was incredible - much lower than the current Charger. The Daytona had a cd of 0.28 and a new Charger has one of 0.35. That is a huge difference at speed. Given that the 426 is at least a match for the 6.1, I would say that there is little doubt in the 180 mph claim.BTW, The 6.4L intake along with HF cats and a good catback will produce nice gains by themselves without a cam install. The gains are down low below 4000 rpms where you need them to get the car moving. Most all VVT Cams produce very little to no gains below 4000 rpms. The hellcat top speed is 203, and it was designed to drive at those speeds. You might want to put on better tires. I have recently upgraded my tires to high-speed high-performance tires. I will also be upgrading my brakes to be able to manage stopping distance.The 5.7L Charger Pursuits are governed to about 150 mph but some will go 155.
