Yah, whenever you get random and seemingly unrelated problems cropping up, it is usually a problem with the battery cables or grounds. 2013 Silverado 1500 LT, Z71, 5.3L, 6L80e, 4X4, HD Towing pkg. If you can't fix it with a hammer, it is an electrical problem. C.

I did not subscribe to Onstar. It seems that the functionality of the infotainment system is severely limited without it. For instance , I have to use Android Auto on my phone for navigation. Living in a rural area with poor cell coverage, this is problematic.

The purple and white DIM CTRL (with no "N") looks like it goes to indicator LEDs for things like the transfer case modes, etc. That also appears to be working fine. The yellow LED DIM looks like it goes to a few different switches and displays, but as far as I can tell, the only ones affected are the DIC display and the radio LED display.

hey guys, so i just recently purchased a 2002 gmc sierra 2500 hd with the 8.1 and the only issue im having that i want to solve is that the rear view mirror has the compass/temp gauge and the screen is just black. the green light is on for the auto dim and the connection is good but i cant get it to work.The radio sends graphical image data to the display via a dedicated video interface cable. If the radio is not working they can not reprogram it. Need to have the radio system scanned for codes. Actually we need to send to dealership to check the system.
