The Lectron has been around a long time but until recently the owner was into drag racing and so the carb performed very well in that venue. The carbs have been used by a few very high level off road guys in events such as the ISDE as far back as 20 years ago. They are $300 and available and very easy to tune and don't need fiddling.

Jul 8, 2019 · The pumper on the 4S Lectron (and the FCR) has nothing to do with the needle jet emulsion tube or needle. The Lectron carb (and SmartCarb) use a single needle that covers the standard pilot, needle and main jet circuits. The slight advantage of a single circuit carb like the Lectron is the tendency to transition smoother off of the pilot circuit. THE LAB. The Lectron 38HV uses an adjustable metering rod instead of needles and jets. The carb has a tapered bore that squeezes the air as it enters the carburetor and creates fuel lift behind the flat metering rod. Bought a used DRZ recently with a yoshi exhaust, 3x3 and an FCR 39 MX and cannot get it to run reliably - it'll only stay running at idle with the hot start pulled. I tore into the Mikuni TMX Carb that comes on the 2002 CR250 and got all sorts of jet sizes for the thing. First I put jetting back to stock to the following; Air Screw: 1-1/2.
