In both cases they wanted to issue a check, with extra shipping charges, and have a third party arrange pickup. I would have to forward them the shipping funds to close the deal.

I found one in the CN classifieds for $225 a few months ago. Those have top-shelf glass and longer focal lengths than those short-tube 80s you mentioned, and the views are stunning. Jupiter and Saturn will still be small through an eyepiece but you can visually resolve cloud bands around Jupiter.If known, it would be good to have the corrector number and any date on the motors and the original purchase date if known. Going from 85mm to 100mm will probably not net you a noticeable increase in resolution, at least, unless seeing is very good (at least 1.5 arc-seconds to notice, over 2 arc-seconds). Many of them were $100 and I remember the 30mm going on sale for $200 multiple times.
