If you look at the data, the Claybuster gives a lower pressure for the same amount of powder. If Hodgdon didn't specifically have Claybuster data it would be safe to use the WAA12sl data fot the CB 1100-12 per the instructions from Claybuster. Im loading remington hulls, cheddite primers, 16.3 of PP/High Gun and a CB0178-12 wad, 1 oz of Heper shot. Crushes targets singles and handicap. You need to get the new loading data from Hodgdon. They should go by the loading manual or call the powder manufacturer if an unlisted substitution is considered.My sporting 12 has 7/64" gas ports. Came that way from the factory. That gun will literally cycle any shell I put in it. My first shot of doubles shell is 7/8 oz shot, cb0178-12 wad, 14.5 grains alliant extra lite, cheddite primer and a Remington hull. The gun ran flawlessly during a doubles shoot two weeks ago on a zero degree morning.
The reloading data is not much different using Clays (approximately 19.4 - 19.8 grains), 1 oz, winchester 209 and remington hulls, can I load 1 ounce using the CB0178-12? Has anyone reloaded Remington gund clubs using the CB0178-12 wad and 1 ounce?
I've just started reloading and have settled on a 1 oz load of #8 with 16gn of 700X and I'm using CB-1100-12 wads (in Gun Club hulls). The Claybuster site says these wads are good for 7/8 to 1 oz, but the optimal load is 1 oz. I'd rather not buy a bunch of 7/8 oz wads to try this out, so I'm curious to know if I need to make any press ...

Lots of room to work for 1.25oz of bismuth and 25+ grain Longshot. I usually load 27.5-29grain. I think the low pressure loads were targeting a niche in the loading community. Using components that are available now while introducing a new wad is a good move IMO. FWIW- That 28 grains of Longshot looks like a solid load.Detailed Description. TS.com has a good number of tested loads from a Testing Ballistics Center, that checks the barrels pressures in any load you want to send them. This too, is a good source for reloading shells, if you can't find any reloading data on. But Hodgdon has just added lots of reloading data with Cheddite primers now.
