Best horse archer: Both khuzait and aserai horse archers are good but the best horse archers are the khuzait khans guard which are noble units. Best infantry: aserai have decent shock infantry with the palace guard but from my experience most people go with imperial legionaries as their front line due to their strong armour and shield.

They need to be decent in melee to be viable. As such, I'd say an army of solely throwing infantry is bad, but would recommend a large army of sturgian heavy axemen. Mameluke tier has some great skirmishers. Master archers are decent. Palace guards are hard to train but they are versatile. Not the best troop tree but nice and reliable backups. Javelins are very good in Bannerlord and most of your infantry get them.
