This makes for a loose fit in an action that has threads on the large side. Plenty of the barrel nut style barrels work out great, but having a good smith setup your barrel properly guarantees it. The basic principles just outlined apply to all the calibers below. If you are still unsure or need a recommendation we recommend contacting a bullet maker, they do the testing to determine what twist rate will best stabalize their bullets. Caliber Twist: .172. - 9" for bullets heavier than 30 gr. - 10" for bullets up to 30 gr.

They are on mid-eighties rifles. Less than half inch groups easy at 50 yds, using good SV ammo. At my age & eyes,I don't shoot as well as I use to. I think a younger fellow would have the ragged hole thing going on!
