Leah Hextall is Brutal. I don’t mean to sound sexist or hateful, but I think Leah Hextall is a horrible hockey commentator. When listening to Hextall call games, I feel like she has no idea what is actually playing out on the ice. Adding to that, her calls for goals, saves, etc, just are brutal to listen to.

And Leah Hextall is miscast as a play-by-play announcer. She's better as an analyst and/or studio host. Maybe ESPN never caught on that Mike Tirico was a natural from the start because NBC made a point of scheduling him for Red Wings games to ease him in. Maybe we'll see more Steve Levy after this weekend's MNF wild card game.
