The early 400's and the late Super M's were same but later 400's used dipsticks and had a smaller 1 inch diamiter wist pin just like the 450's, and the H and early (I'm thinking) Super H are similar but later Super H's and 300's, and 350's are different. The M's engine unlike the H can be made into a 450.

I must respectfully disagree with the notion that the SC is more powerful then the H, because the Nebraska Tests done at the time clearly show the horsepower edge going to the Farmall every time. Do not use 12 volt cables. 6 volt requires heavier. cables. When you convert the system to a 12 volt, then you would change. to a negative ground.
